Self Taught Creative Entrepreneur Mpumelelo Lives on Double Faith

Mpumelelo aka "Double-ts Saza" is a 33 year old filmmaker, musician and an entrepreneur who resides in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria and he is a big believer of faith. So much so that he has named all of his entities "Double Faith". "All my entities were inspired by the word Faith which happens to be the name of my ex-girlfriend from Bloemfontein. Instead of having faith like everyone else, I chose to have Double Faith in everything I do. I even created a slogan that says "Don't have faith but have Double Faith."
Mpumelelo is currently running three "Double Faith" ships in the form of "Double Faith Entertainment" which is a record label and an events company. Then "Double Faith Visuals" which is a film production company that deals with professional music videos, photography, documentaries and online TV content.

The last of the three pillars is his proudest venture, "Double Faith Connect" which is a music video distribution agency and a management company. "Double Faith Connect is my proudest and biggest discovery to date. I have met great creatives all across Africa thanks to Double Faith Connect. The aim is for it to be a crossing bridge all across Africa and also do A&R (Artist & Repertoire) for a soon-to-be established Company, Double Faith Publishing."

His journey in entertainment dates back to 2003. He started off as a poet before he became a recording artist. It started off as just exploring his creativity as a young boy but the more he immersed himself in that world, the more passion he developed for the arts and more so, working behind the scene. "I have also been an independent young man from my school days, but i always had to prove myself because i have been labelled crazy because of my ideas, dreams and aspirations. Where i grew up dreams are just dreams."

Being a service provider and an entrepreneur is a challenging task for many and Mpumelelo says being from Kasi makes it even harder. "Being from Kasi is the hardest. Back to my point, you always have to prove yourself before anyone can take you seriously. But the good thing about business is that you can seek your market elsewhere. Those who don't support you will eventually get the memo in the long run."

Mpumelelo says he got into his recent venture because of the need he saw first-hand as an artist and used himself as a trial to acquire the information and skill to get it right to eventually taking it on as a business venture. "I got into the plugging business through myself as an artist. I had to make myself an experiment in order to get it right. I bought plugging /PR services from Anathi Afrka and I learned a lot from them by just observing how they conduct their business. One thing that stood out for me was that Paperwork is king."

Speaking on the need and niche for the services,he says he places his business to cater for a market that is overlooked and he offers affordable packages and has best interest of the artist in mind. "Well Plugging and Distribution services are there both in the public and private sector but they don't come cheap. Most of them, their target market is privileged individuals and they don't care about the artists at all, they only want money from them. Then I decided to establish an agency that has the best interest for everyone who buys our services and we are also affordable and reliable. Our track record speaks for itself."
Mpumelelo truly lives on his mantra and it is making things happen for him. He is also a believer of loyalty and helping those he can as he's also been on the receiving end of such from a person he regards highly, and that is music producer, Odyccy, who is also from Hammaskraal. "Helping other people has always been my thing growing up, prioritising other people over me has always been my gift. It comes out as a natural gesture and it fulfills me seeing other people prosper through my efforts."

And what are the wishes, future plans and dream for this young man who has never shied away from exploring his talents till he found one that lights up heart, drives his purpose and one he finds pleasure in doing day in day out?
"My wish is to see all creatives from Hammanskraal getting exploited in a good way and living their dreams. My future plans are to establish a music publishing entity, to expand Double Faith Connect all over Africa and my dream is to have my own Television network, a Music channel preferably."

All the best to Mpumelelo aka Mr #DoubleFaith and we wish you success and amazing life changing moves with all your ventures. We look forward to you putting Hamitown and the whole of Pretoria on the Continental map.

The Motswako Prince of Maftown, Sly YoHighness

It looks like Sly YoHighness might just got next as the Motswako Prince. It's now been a long while since we've had a proper Motswako wave breakthrough. Remember when the Morafe and Tuks wave hit, or when Gata lenna came out, Fifi Cooper and the late HHPs consistency and many comebacks? A lot of us have been wondering "who got next"? With the fall of guys like Notshi and KT struggling to properly cement his stance, is Sly the guy to look out for? I hit him up through the socials, to find out what he's been up to and if he really got his sight set on the throne. So how did he get into this whole music and creative space thing? He says he's always been artistic and one thing led to the other . "I love & have always loved acting. I'm very out there & funny too (yes, he is). So once I started writing I kinda never stopped, though I always felt it's a farfetched dream or whatever but I kept on writing, even if it was just for mysel

Tan89Media Tips For Emerging Talent

Attention Emerging Talent!! So, for the years that I have been dealing with and working alongside emerging talent, more so, artists. I have noticed some behavior pertaining to their brand. That could be credited to lack of experience and knowledge but it could also be ignorance and lack of proactivity. A lot of talent lacks a lot of knowledge of their industries. The very same field they want to occupy one day. Its super essential for anyone to know as much as possible when it comes to a dream they are pursuing or a skill they are great at or anything for that matter they say they are passionate about. The very basic things to know are many times overlooked and undermined and they play a huge role in how you develop as a brand, how you are perceived, and it shows just how serious or not one is about whatever it is they are pursuing. I have listed and broken down six (6) tips for emerging/ up and coming brands/ talents. Hopefully they will serve helpful to some. 1. The bas
