Your dose of musical therapy with Dr. Feel

Dr Feel was born in a family that's talented and had the creative knack. His father was a guitarist, elder brothers were musicians too. He believes he was not only born within this life but also born and destined for it. He's tried swerving into another direction, going into different careers and jobs but none of them made him happy and at peace like making music.
Dr. Feel has years of experience, experimenting and wins and looses too under his arm and they are the reasons he has kept on. Touching on some challenges he's faced as an up and coming Music producer and DJ, Dr Feel points out getting overlooked in some instances because no one knows who you are."Its tough because the talent and skill is there, but because you haven't been on traditional and super commercial and big mediums, you won't get the chance."

He also points out financial constrains as another challenge. "You can't really move if your capital is low. You need a software, you gotta have cash to buy it, uploading music online, you need data for that, PR, music videos, man the list is endless."

With those lows,he's also made solid moves that's been career gratifying. He's produced the heart stinging "February" by Ifani Haymani. He's also recently worked (produced) on the MTN Ska Wara Bundle Sale promotion advert.
Dr Feel also prides himself with working with a lot of emerging artists. "I will keep working and pushing unsigned artists. They are the raw untapped talent and it gives me pleasure knowing I'm doing something to help. We just pray and hope for a breakthrough."
And speaking of untapped talent, his two singles he's pushing  attest to that.
He's featured songstress, model and songwriter Zhane on "More of You" which is pop inspired song with a touch of Afro tech. On another single "Let Me Go" he features Zhane together with Jo'burg based rapper, Earl Kay who is on a solid come up.
The song is available for download here: @EarlKay_SA ft @Zhane_SAA - Let Me Go(Prod By Dr Feel)
The songs are a lead up to his much anticipated debut album "Made In Africa" which is awaiting release.
So what inspired the album? "It's my love for Africa. I wanted to showcase the crazy amount of talent Africa has. From Afro Beats, Gqom,Amapiano, Afro Tech, Hip Hop, Pop to Dancehall. I wanted to cover every popular genre just to give you a taste of Africa. I worked with a whole lot of unsigned artists, Jay 16, Aye Tee, Rusty, Zhane, Sarchieman, Issa Matthews, Slang G, Katapila, SamaT, Kiki, James Sakala, Earl Kay, super talented artists, not only that but I believe in them a whole lot.

This album will drop at the right time, for now I'm just working out a good strategy and pushing the singles on every platform I can get. I enjoyed working on it and I'm super proud of it.
One thing that you can always pick from all the album and all works I've produce is soul. There must be soul in music otherwise how will it connect with the masses?.

Besides family influence, Dr. Feel also draws from the outside as far as music is concerned. " I draw my inspiration from a wide range of creatives.
The likes of Dr Dre, Just Blaze, Timberland, 9th Wonder, Black Coffee, &Me, Keinemusik, EDX, Da Capo, Eno Napa, Kanye West, Cold Play, M83, Lemon & Herb, Runtown, Tekno, Dj Snake.
Dr. Feel's plans for the future include getting his current singles playlisted, getting major bookings, dropping "Made In Africa"albums and woking with more emerging artists and well established ones also, this includes Toshi.

Look out for Dr. Feel at Jack Fridays in Moretela Park where he is a resident DJ. He's also doing promo runs for his singles across radio stations. He's been releasing free music every Friday on www.mamsmusic.co.za also on YouTube: Dr. Feel remix

The Motswako Prince of Maftown, Sly YoHighness

It looks like Sly YoHighness might just got next as the Motswako Prince. It's now been a long while since we've had a proper Motswako wave breakthrough. Remember when the Morafe and Tuks wave hit, or when Gata lenna came out, Fifi Cooper and the late HHPs consistency and many comebacks? A lot of us have been wondering "who got next"? With the fall of guys like Notshi and KT struggling to properly cement his stance, is Sly the guy to look out for? I hit him up through the socials, to find out what he's been up to and if he really got his sight set on the throne. So how did he get into this whole music and creative space thing? He says he's always been artistic and one thing led to the other . "I love & have always loved acting. I'm very out there & funny too (yes, he is). So once I started writing I kinda never stopped, though I always felt it's a farfetched dream or whatever but I kept on writing, even if it was just for mysel

Tan89Media Tips For Emerging Talent

Attention Emerging Talent!! So, for the years that I have been dealing with and working alongside emerging talent, more so, artists. I have noticed some behavior pertaining to their brand. That could be credited to lack of experience and knowledge but it could also be ignorance and lack of proactivity. A lot of talent lacks a lot of knowledge of their industries. The very same field they want to occupy one day. Its super essential for anyone to know as much as possible when it comes to a dream they are pursuing or a skill they are great at or anything for that matter they say they are passionate about. The very basic things to know are many times overlooked and undermined and they play a huge role in how you develop as a brand, how you are perceived, and it shows just how serious or not one is about whatever it is they are pursuing. I have listed and broken down six (6) tips for emerging/ up and coming brands/ talents. Hopefully they will serve helpful to some. 1. The bas
