I've been checking out several newspoints that are strictly dedicated to covering content about the culture. Lord knows we need more of these.
There's a lot of platforms that many don't realise they out there , but there's not nearly enough covering the vast that the culture has. Granted it's gonna take a while before digital media thrives to the point where these platforms become topic of conversation and it becomes a career defining moment to be on some of them, but I believe.
Below are some of the platforms that I've been exposed to,so far on YouTube that cater and cover varied angels of the game and I believe they have great potential to become something great in future. In no particular favouritism order:
HipHopLiveSA
HHLSA is an award winning online show which originated from the Limpopo Province under the Limpshacks Movement. Histed by Karabo Shongwe (@illy_the_host), the show is currently on its 4th season and its running installments of cyphers around the country. It has had, to date featured over 100 artists and its sitting on over 74k views. They host emerging and established artists from all over South Africa and they've even hosted a few from outside the country. They interview guests on their musical journeys and get their opinions on various industry related issues. They’ve also dropped several compilation projects which their recent one was dropped in August and features an all-female cast.

Sotra Cyphers
Presented by the underrated and super talented producer SPeeKa, The Sotras are curently on their 24th episode and the bars keep elevating. The artists featured mostly come from different places around the South Western Townships of Gauteng. The Sotras are about bringing out emerging talent that hasn’t gone mainstream yet and affords them the exposure by just coming through and lacing your best bars on the mic . SPeeKa is the producer of the series and has had abundance of talent featured so far.

Slaghuis TV: Raising the Bar
Raising the bar is a fairly new addition to the Slaghuis production catalogue. They’ve produced documentaries and a number of shows including “Wheres the beef” which airs on GauTV on Wednesday nights. They are sitting on hundreds of thousands of view. Raising the bar is pretty much about Emcees doing the most with the bars.

SlikourOnLife TV
SlikourOnLifes’ “On the Ground” and “The Balcony Interview” features focus mainly and mostly on established artists, who are topical at that given moment. They give an expanded account of some usually limited information from the game players. They bring out the exclusives and more details be it for events, music, beefs, travels or any other culture related happenings. @Slikouron #BalconyInterviews
Drop xvi Africa
Though it seems this channel has stopped uploading content, it was really onto something amazing. The cyphers they organized and shot were really not your usual. They had real time you-better-know-your-story MCs. They’ve had a lil under 85k views to date. They’ve featured a variety of emerging and some famous artists (before they blew up). Ranging from Johnny Joburg, Huge Da Oracle, Sledge Lee, QBA, Meg Mafia, Huey and the late Ben Sharpa. Petty nostalgic stuff. @dropxvi #Dropxvi
These platforms are hella important and needed ,seeing that mainstream media doesn’t really cater for a variety of what and how the game is. So, sometime when you have time (and data) look them up and see that there’s a whole lot of variation on these streets. That there’s more of these kids on these streets than the box and the radio will have you believe.
They can only grown and be sustained by getting support. Your support could really do great things for them. They need the numbers to keep going, to keep motivated. Let's consume more of our own and see the game grow.... That's just #InMyOpinion
